Best Waterproof Hunting Boots: Reviews

Here we have what we think, and what most people would agree to be the best waterproof hunting boots around. Wet feet are never fun, especially if you plan on spending a day or even several days out in the woods.

So, let’s take a look at some of the best available waterproof hunting boots.

1. Lowa Men’s Tibet GTX Trekking Boot

When it comes to waterproof hiking and hunting boots, this Lowa Men’s Tibet GTX Trekking Boot is hands down one of the best, if not the very best option around.

Now, something we want to note before getting into the benefits of these boots is that they are quite expensive, but that said, you get what you pay for, and here you get a whole lot of quality, comfort, and overall durability.

The Lowa Men’s Tibet GTX Trekking Boot is 100% leather, and when it comes down to it, leather is always one of the best materials for these kinds of boots.

Leather is waterproof on its own, so you should have no problems there, especially if you treat them with the right products to make them even more repellant.

There is also the fact that leather is highly durable and in terms of long-lasting boots, you won’t find boots that last longer than those made of leather.

To help make this Lowa Men’s Tibet GTX Trekking Boot even more waterproof, it also features a seamless and waterproof Gore-Tex lining.

Now, because these boots are so highly waterproof, they are not the best in terms of breathability, but if you want dry feet, it is a sacrifice you will have to make.

Other than that, you get metal lace loops for easy tying, a great rubber sole with awesome traction, and quite a bit of interior support.

Pros:

  • Provides good grip
  • Padded tongue for extra comfort
  • Waterproof Gore-Tex lining

Cons:

  • Sizing tends to be quite small

2. Kenetrek Men’s Mountain Extreme Ni Hunting Boot

This is another fairly expensive and high-quality hiking and hunting boot, the Kenetrek Men’s Mountain Extreme Ni Hunting Boot. Once again, these boots are not very cheap, but it is well worth the investment seeing the quality you get.

Keeping your feet dry for days on end is going to cost a few bucks.

Now, just like the above boots, this Kenetrek Men’s Mountain Extreme Ni Hunting Boot is also made out of 100% full grain leather.

As mentioned, leather is already waterproof on its own, plus if you treat it with the right products, you can further increase water repelling capabilities.

Moreover, the upper on the Kenetrek Men’s Mountain Extreme Ni Hunting Boot is made with a one-piece vamp and no seams down the sides, which helps to increase waterproofing even more.

On that same note, this boot also features a Wind-Tex waterproof and windproof lining to keep out the cold wind and moisture. Once again, this does reduce breathability, but in our opinion, it is well worth it if your feet stay dry.

Furthermore, the Kenetrek Men’s Mountain Extreme Ni Hunting Boot also comes with several other comfort factors, such as a well-padded midsole, a good liner, and more. This boot also comes with a reinforced outsole, one that has great traction, and features a toe guard as well.

Pros:

  • Feel light on your feet
  • Perfect for hunting and mountaineering
  • Reinforced rubber sole guard

Cons:

  • Quite pricey

3. Irish Setter Men’s 2870 Vaprtrek Waterproof 8″ Hunting Boot

This is a slightly more affordable hunting boot for you to look at, as the Irish Setter Men’s 2870 Vaprtrek Waterproof 8″ Hunting Boot comes in at roughly half the price of either of the other boots we looked at.

They might not be quite as pricey as the other ones, and they might not have quite the same level of durability, but this is not to say that they are not good hunting boots.

For one, they are made out of 100% synthetic materials. Although the Irish Setter Men’s 2870 Vaprtrek Waterproof 8″ Hunting Boot is not quite as highly durable as a real leather boot, it can still hold its own without question.

It comes with several reinforcement features to ensure that it is a decently durable boot.

One thing to note is that the Irish Setter Men’s 2870 Vaprtrek Waterproof 8″ Hunting Boot is a bit more breathable and better ventilated than the other options we have looked at. This boot does come with an UltraDry waterproofing system, so they are waterproof.

Now, they might not be the best for walking through deep puddles, but they certainly work well at wicking away moisture from your feet.

What is also nice about this hunting boot is that it is fairly lightweight, which is not something that can be said for either of the other boots we have looked at, plus they come with a good midsole and outsole.

When it comes down to it, the Irish Setter Men’s 2870 Vaprtrek Waterproof 8″ Hunting Boot is very comfortable, flexible, and it provides great traction.

Pros:

  • Very light
  • Do not hinder your mobility
  • UltraDry waterproofing system

Cons:

  • Not the best traction

Conclusion

At the end of the day, having the right pair of waterproof hunting boots is important. If you want a decent boot, but don’t want to spend a fortune, we would recommend the Irish Setter Men’s 2870 Vaprtrek Waterproof 8″ Hunting Boot.

However, both the other options, while being more expensive, are in all reality the better options to go with.
